Guest Blogger: Revival Style goes on Vacation

Albert Camus once wrote, “In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.” I, too, found summer in the midst of the bleak Iowa winter, struggling to become spring: in Florida.

Loose summer knits, resale sandals, & funky oversized shades

Of course, Florida promises beaches and sunshine, and on spring break, a girl needs to cut loose the coats and close-toed shoes to get outside and get active. If you’re like me, you also need to be able to fit all your clothes into one bag and still have room to bring back half of the Gulf of Mexico’s sand and shells. Some pieces need to pull double-duty, like this sand-colored open-knit sweater from Blu Pepper. It will work to warm you in an air-conditioned restaurant on date night, and is the perfect breezy swimsuit cover-up on the beach the next day. And of course, no warm-weather ensemble is complete without a fab pair of oversized sunnies.

Resale sandals & gorgeous earrings from {made} community in our favorite shade of blue

A pair of chic sandals, like these black and blue Zara gladiators, work on the beach and out on the town, too. Along with some gorgeous earrings from the latest {made} line, I loved working the pops of blue in with this easy tribal-printed maxi. The dress’s back detail is darling, stepping an already versatile frock up a notch.

This simple American Apparel tie-dyed V-neck was the perfect topper for a day hiking on a tiny state park island. Paired with some ripped jeans, a casual outfit like this can keep you cool and protected under a tropical sun. Sometimes, a girl just needs a tee shirt.

These items are a mix of new, locally made and consignment pieces available at Revival.
